Ronaldo is in the second spot on this list.

Many players in the Premier League continue to play well into their 30s and continue to have a significant impact on the team. Even if they are in their late 30s, some players are still crucial to their team, which speaks volumes about their consistency as they have a significant impact and provide much-needed expertise to the squad.

With this, we examine players who at 37 years of age or older directly contributed 10 goals or more in a Premier League season.

5. Teddy Sheringham (2003/04)

During his twenty-four-year professional career, Teddy Sheringham played forward, primarily as a second striker. Sheringham was a member of Manchester United’s 1999 Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League treble-winning squad. In the 1999 UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich, he equalised and assisted on the team’s winning goal, both of which came in injury time during the second half.

However, this isn’t the only thing he is remembered for as Sheringham spent the 2003/04 season at Portsmouth, where he recorded nine goals and four assists, becoming the player who has been directly involved in 10+ goals in a Premier League season aged 37 or over.

4. Ryan Giggs (2011/12)

He is considered to be among the best wingers in football history as well as one of the best players of his generation. Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs remained evergreen. Despite being past his prime, the versatile player always made a great contribution to the team.

During the 2011/12 season, he was in his late 30s, but he remained an integral part of the team, leading them in the attack. The forward contributed two goals and eight assists in the league, becoming among the players to have been directly involved in 10+ goals in a Premier League season aged 37 or over.

3. Gary Speed (2006/07)

Welsh professional football player and manager Gary Andrew Speed MBE also has a spot on this coveted list. As Wales’ manager, Speed is frequently given credit for turning the tide on the national team’s woes and paving the way for their subsequent achievements.

Meanwhile, during his playing career, he enjoyed many excellent times as he played for many Premier League sides. In his late 30s, Speed was still one of the greatest midfield players and seldom suffered from injury or suspension. In the 2006–07 season, he scored eight goals and had three assists in the league, making him among the players aged 37 or older who have been involved in 10 or more goals in a Premier League season.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (2021/22)

When Cristiano Ronaldo arrived again at Manchester United, he was met with a lot of hype. The forward rejoined one of his childhood clubs during his mid-30s, which led to plenty of questions raised about whether the former Real Madrid star will be able to remain productive in the attacking line.

But the way Ronaldo performed in his first season at United, it never looked like he left the club. He recorded 18 goals and three assists, which also saw him being involved in 10+ goals in a Premier League season aged 37 or over.

1. Jamie Vardy (2024/25)

With his recent goal, Jamie Vardy joined the distinguished group of Premier League legends. At Tottenham, the Leicester striker gave the Foxes a vital equaliser in the second half. Additionally, it indicated that the former England player has contributed to ten goals this season.

Vardy joins a select group of players over 37 who participated in the English Premier League with such figures, including Gary Speed and Cristiano Ronaldo.
