Four Premier League sides have lost nine or more consecutive home games

Southampton have shown lacklustre performances in the current Premier League season.
The English Premier League 2024-25 edition has seen a sudden change in momentum as Manchester City, who have won the last four editions consecutively, are now struggling to even secure a Champions League spot for the coming season. Liverpool are at the top of the table and are likely to win the league title.
It would’ve been the first time any team (City) might have won the fifth Premier League title in a row. It is a big feat, and no team has ever achieved it. On the other hand, four specific teams have lost nine or more consecutive league games at home.
This has happened across different seasons.
Four sides in English top-flight history that have lost 9 or more consecutive home league games
4. Birmingham City FC (1985-86)
During the 1985-86 season, Birmingham City finished in the 21st spot. They were also demoted because of their lacklustre performances. Birmingham became the first team in Premier League history to lose nine or more consecutive home league games.
They lost 10 consecutive games at home, to be precise. Although they started the season at a decent rate, their form fell off going further.
3. Wolves (2011-12)
The Wolverhampton Wanderers saw a decline in their form during the 2011-12 season when they lost nine consecutive games at home in the Premier League. They finished in the 20th spot on the league table as they were only able to secure a total of 25 points. Wolves got demoted due to their poor show of performance
In the ongoing EPL season, they are in the 17th spot and are likely to avoid relegation.
2. Watford (2021-22)
The Hornets have lost the most consecutive home games in the history of the Premier League. During their 2021-22 run in the EPL, Watford lost 11 consecutive home games in the league. The Hornets showcased one of the worst performances at home during their 2021-22 campaign.
They are currently playing in the EFL Championship and are in 11th place.
1. Southampton (2024-25)
Presently, Southampton are on a poor run in the Premier League. They have already lost nine consecutive home games in the EPL. The Saints are in the last spot in the Premier League 2024-25 standings.
They are most likely to be demoted at the end of this season. In their 32 league matches played this season, Southampton have only been able to win a couple of them and have lost 26 games.
