Premier League: Which teams have been relegated & promoted for 2025-26 season?

Two top-flight teams have already been relegated to the ELF Championship.
The struggle for survival and promotion is reaching the final stretch as the Premier League season draws to a close. Two teams have sealed their demotion to the EFL Championship with five games remaining in the English Premier League season.
However, there are just two games left in the second division until the league is over. The teams that have earned their place in the Premier League and those that will be demoted to the second division are shown here.
Which clubs gained promotion for the 2025/26 Premier League season?
This season’s EFL Championship was a brutal race for promotion. Even though there are just two games left in the season, the top two teams are tied for the most points. Burnley and Leeds United both have 94 points, but Leeds United’s better goal differential puts them in first place.
- Leeds United: Leeds had the “most” fruitful season in club history in terms of points gained (94). This all happened under the leadership of Daniel Farke. The club can win the Championship title with two games remaining, which would make promotion to the Premier League even sweeter.
- Burnley: The Clarets have been struggling to remain up in the Premier League over the past few seasons. They had achieved promotion in 2023 and were demoted the very next year in 2024. But under Scott Parker’s leadership, the team has achieved promotion once more. They now sit in second place with 94 points.
- Not yet announced: The third team is decided by a playoff round, where promotion is up for grabs for the winner. Teams from spots 3 to 6 will compete for promotion. Sheffield United and Sunderland, now ranked third and fourth in the Championship, have a guaranteed place in the playoffs with two games remaining for each team.Swansea, West Brom, Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City, Coventry, and Middlesbrough are all in the running for the other two spots.
Which clubs are relegated from the Premier League in the 2024/25 season?
- Southampton: With only two victories during the season and just 11 points, Southampton set the “unwanted” record for the earliest Premier League relegation. After failing to stay in the Premier League, the Saints also fired manager Ivan Juric.
- Leicester City: Of the two teams relegated this season, Leicester are the second side to be eliminated. The team captained by seasoned attacker Jamie Vardy only earned four victories during the campaign, with five games remaining.
- Ipswich Town or West Ham United: Ipswich Town’s relegation is all but certain, despite the fact that West Ham’s relegation is still theoretically possible. Ipswich, who are now in 18th place, will need to win every game they play and score at least 20 goals in order to equal West Ham’s goal differential of -18, who are currently in 17th place.
