PSG abandon race to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah: Report

The Egyptian is yet to renew his deal with the Reds.

Mohamed Salah (32), a forward for Liverpool, has long been linked to Paris Saint-Germain. Nevertheless, Le Parisien is aware that the Ligue 1 powerhouses are no longer interested in signing the Egyptian.

The future of Salah is still uncertain. The forward has hinted that this season may be his final one at Anfield. Even his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the current campaign. Despite the forward’s ability to sign a pre-contract deal with another club, negotiations on a renewal are still ongoing.

Téléfoot claims that Salah is not currently in negotiations with any other teams since he wants to stay at Liverpool after his current contract expires. According to Le Parisien, PSG, the team most often associated with a transfer for Salah, is no longer in the running.

The long-running search has ended because the report recognizes that the Egyptian’s profile no longer fits what Luis Enrique and Luís Campos are seeking.

According to the French publication L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain were previously prepared to “do everything” in an attempt to sign Liverpool forward. His current form this season is amazing, as he hopes to win the league and the Champions League with the Anfield giants.

However, now they (PSG) have abandoned the race to sign the forward, as the club boast plenty of attacking players and signing Salah doesn’t make enough sense for the club, who are already doing excellent in attacks.

Despite having two to three years left, Salah will soon be past his peak, which is another reason why his purchase makes no sense. The club would be better off investing in young players in their mid-20s, who will improve the quality of the attack.

PSG will now focus on their second-leg Champions League game in the round of 16 against Liverpool at Anfield as they will try to overturn the 1-0 deficit.
