The Spanish manager, Luis Enrique, had urged the current Santos star to leave the French club PSG.
It has been said that Luis Enrique’s cruel comment to Neymar Jr. cemented the Brazilian’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar’s 2017 move from FC Barcelona to PSG caused a stir in the football community with a £200 million transfer fee that remains the highest in the history of the sport.
Before leaving in 2023 for Al-Hilal, the Brazilian scored 118 goals and provided 79 assists in his 173 games for the Paris team.

Additionally, PSG football advisor Luis Campos claims that manager Luis Enrique urged the Brazilian to leave PSG, emphasising that the player did not match his objectives.
Speaking to French outlet RMC Sport, Campos said: “It was Enrique who sat down and said to Neymar: It’s good that you’re leaving.”
“He told him face to face. Because he thinks about football differently. He thinks about playing as a team.
“He thinks that the player who will play is the one who deserves it during the week in training, with total commitment. That’s what he’s looking for and that’s what we gave him.”
The 33-year-old returned to his boyhood club, Santos, in January after playing just seven games for Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal due to injuries to his meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.
Additionally, Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Brazil, said that the forward’s spot at the next World Cup would be in jeopardy.
Neymar has scored six goals and provided three assists since joining Santos, but his injury problems have persisted. However, the forward has now played eight matches straight for the first time in years and will hope to remain fit.
