The Nigerian striker is also being chased by Chelsea

French giants PSG are looking to sign Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen in the summer. As Kylian Mbappe’s departure is getting nearer, the French giants have certain replacements in line for their star player.

According to Il Mattino, Osimhen looks set for a move to Paris this summer as Napoli and PSG are very close to agreeing a deal for the striker.  The French giants are said to be in a rush to complete a move in order to win the race against the likes of Chelsea, with talks having already taken place with the player’s entourage.

The report added that the French club has offered a four-year contract and annual salary of around €13 million. In addition to this, PSG would also pay his €120 million release clause.

After winning the Serie A last season, Osimhen hasn’t enjoyed a lot of success in the current season. He has to battle a few injuries and missed some matches for Napoli. Osimhen has made 26 appearances and scored 14 times. The player also led Nigeria to the AFCON 2023 finals. However, the Super Eagles lost and Victor only managed to score one goal in the whole tournament in Ivory Coast.

Chelsea are one of the leading contenders to sign Osimhen in the summer. However, their financial constraints and the urgent need to comply with the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Regulations (PSR) forced them to pull out of the race.

Osimhen was in Paris recently, with PSG looking to tighten their grip and seal the move. The relationship between Aurelio de Laurentiis and Nasser Al Khelaifi is excellent for a while now and that has helped in the move to potentially pick up pace, with Osimhen likely to manage his own image rights as part of the switch.
