Ugarte already agreed personal terms with Premier League team.

Manchester United are nearing the signing of midfielder Manuel Ugarte. It appears they are in the last stages of the deal to finish. Pars Saint-Germain (PSG) are ready to sanction a loan with an obligation to buy for the player to join the Red Devils this summer.

The Uruguayan had already made his decision to join United as he agreed to personal terms long ago. Ugarte was only signed by PSG last summer. But they are willing to let him leave since the 23-year-old is eager to join Manchester United.

Manchester United would not have preferred the length of the negotiations. They have even looked at possible options because PSG have historically refused to budge on their demands.

Following his last summer transfer from Sporting CP to Les Parisiens, the Uruguayan found it difficult to play at his best at Parc des Princes. He still has lots of time to advance in his profession given he is only 23.

Two outstanding instances of Erik ten Hag‘s ability to nurture emerging talent are Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. In the event that Ugarte signs with the record Premier League champions in the following days, he will also benefit from that.

United have also discussed Sofyan Amrabat, who had a mixed loan experience at Old Trafford last season. The international player from Morocco, who is back at Fiorentina, would not cost as much as Ugarte.

Meanwhile, PSG have expressed interest in Jadon Sancho. Sancho was left out of United’s matchday lineup for Friday’s Premier League match against Fulham. However, Luis Enrique led PSG recently acquired a winger from Rennes named Desire Doue. The French club already brought Joao Neves. Neves will replace Ugarte at the club once the latter joins United.

In the meantime, it may be more probable that Scott McTominay will remain at Old Trafford if Fulham purchase Burnley’s Sander Berge. The Scotland international, who is in the last year of his contract, is admired by Erik ten Hag. McTominay is also a target for Napoli. The Serie A side might be willing to take him on loan rather than meet United’s demands.
