PSG vs Inter Milan Champions League final will break 21-year-old long standing record

PSG and Inter Milan will face each other in the UCL final this year.

The Champions League 2024-25 is set for the final contest between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. Both clubs proved their mettle throughout the campaign that they were the deserving finalist of the new format.

With both reaching the finals, the competition saw a new statistic appear. For the first time, no teams from Spain, England, or Germany have reached the Champions League since Porto vs Monaco in 2004.

However, for the French club, it will be a big achievement. They were on the verge of elimination during the league phase matches. The team managed to secure their place in the play-off in just the last league fixture.

Following that, Luis Enrique’s side met many top clubs and defeated the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, and now Arsenal to reach their second Champions League final in their history.

They are also on the verge of winning the treble after already lifting the Ligue 1 title. Now they are in the final of the Champions League and the Coupe de France. PSG have been one of the best teams under the Spanish head coach. Enrique has the chance of winning his second treble in his managerial career.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan safely reached the round of 16 after finishing fourth in the league phase. They cruised past every team in the competition. But their real test came against Barcelona.

In the second leg, they were minutes away from being eliminated before equalising in the 93rd minute and forcing the game to extra time.

Inter managed to score in the extra time and thwarted Barcelona from any chance of scoring against them. They managed to get the job done. The Serie A giants will now meet PSG in Munich on 31st May.

Their fixture also sets a new record for the first time in 21 years, as no teams from Spain, England, or Germany have reached the UCL 2024-25 final.
