The Brazilian’s impressive individual run ended in the semi-final.

Inter Milan defeated Barcelona 4-3 in the San Siro on Tuesday, ending Barcelona’s Champions League season. The Catalan giants overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first half, and a goal from Raphinha in the dying minutes appeared to take them to the competition’s final with a 3-2 triumph.

However, after a goal from Francesco Acerbi in the 93rd minute forced extra time, Davide Frattesi crushed Barcelona’s hearts to give Inter a 4-3 triumph, 7-6 overall, and go to the final.

Although it was a heartbreaking conclusion to Barcelona’s incredible Champions League run, there was one bright spot in the evening. Raphinha’s goal in the second leg made sure he tied Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goal contributions in a single UCL season.

The Brazilian became one of the Ballon d’Or favourites this season after scoring or assisting on 22 goals for Hansi Flick’s team in Europe. He also equalled the legendary forward Ronaldo’s total from his 2013–14 European campaign with Real Madrid.

How did the former Leeds United player’s season compare to Ronaldo’s in 2013–14, which may be the best individual performance in the tournament’s history, aside from his comparable scoring contributions? Let’s take a look at the stats.

Raphinha 24/25 vs Cristiano Ronaldo 13/14 – Champions League Statistics Compared

Ronaldo and the Barcelona forward contributed the same number of goals, but their goal-to-assist ratios differ slightly. Given that he is the greatest goal scorer in football history and is well-known for his amazing goal-scoring ability, it should not be shocking that the former Manchester United player scored more goals in the 2013–14 season.

On his road to winning the cup for the first time with Los Blancos, the Portuguese star scored 17 goals. On the other hand, the Brazilian netted 13 goals for Barcelona on their way to the semifinals.

However, the Brazilian outperforms Ronaldo in terms of assists. He naturally created a lot of opportunities for his teammates when playing with players like Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal. He ended the season with nine assists.
