Rasmus Hojlund wants to 'stay and fight' for his spot at Manchester United amid Sesko links

The Red Devils are said to be okay with letting the Danish striker leave.
Rasmus Hojlund is adamant that he wants to battle for his spot at Manchester United despite speculation that the club are open to selling him in the summer window.
Hours after it was revealed that United were making progress on a transfer for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, Rasmus Hojlund scored one in United’s 4-1 thumping of AFC Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday night.
At the beginning of the summer, United made an effort to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, but he chose to sign with Chelsea instead. Aston Villa have resisted United’s multiple attempts to sign Ollie Watkins, and Viktor Gyokeres also passed on the United job in favour of Arsenal.
Newcastle United have come to terms with losing out on the Slovenian international, and Sesko has now emerged as United’s most likely striker target. Despite the fact that Sesko, 22, is just a few months younger than Hojlund, United are adamant about having a fresh No. 9 up front.
Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, declined to guarantee that Rasmus Hojlund would remain with the team for the next season.

Hojlund keen to remain and fight for his spot at United
When asked if United had updated him on his future, Hojlund said:
“Nothing so far. I think the most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused and then obviously we’ll see what happens.”
“I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. I’m still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I’m only 22.”
Hojlund acknowledged that he has had difficulties at United due to a lack of front-line assistance. Anthony Martial was still healing from a hamstring injury when he came from Atalanta in July 2023. The Frenchman, who is prone to injuries, failed to play for the team again after December 9 of that year.
What did Hojlund say regarding transfer speculations?
He said, “I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens.”
Are United looking to sign a new striker?
They are pushing to sign Benjamin Sesko, as per reports.
Do Man United want Hojlund out?
He is not considered untouchable, and the club will let him leave if a good transfer fee is proposed.
