Real Madrid advised to sell Vinicius Jr amid Kylian Mbappe-level contract demands

The Brazilian winger has been in talks with the Spanish club to renew his deal.

Real Madrid have been urged to do “everything possible” to sell Vinicius Jr if he requests a contract comparable to that of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

Since no player is bigger than the LaLiga heavyweights, the Brazilian forward is not considered worthy of such terms, and Los Blancos must let him go, amidst interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Vinicius Jr, who finished second in the 2024 Ballon d’Or race, is negotiating a contract with the club. Since an extension has not yet been reached, offers could be considered during future transfer windows.

The 25-year-old attacker has been strongly linked to a move to the Middle East, where he may follow in the footsteps of Real Madrid greats Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Predrag Mijatovic, a former Real Madrid striker and director, has been criticising Vinicius Jr frequently lately. Regarding upcoming discussions in the Spanish capital, he has recently told Carrusel Deportivo:

“If he is now asking for the same contract as Mbappe or Messi, it is clear that he does not want to renew; that is obvious. We are not children, please. And if he wants to finish his contract at Real Madrid, that’s fine.“

“Real Madrid always has to be above any player, any figure in football, because it is the biggest club in the world.“

“If Vinicius refuses to renew his contract, Real Madrid has to do everything possible to transfer him. Under no circumstances can you allow a player or his representatives to control you.”

In 24 games across all competitions this season, Vinicius Junior has only managed five goals and eight assists. Exit rumours have increased as a result of supporters making fun of him at home.

He is no longer seen as essential because Mbappe is now Madrid’s star player, and players like Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo play supporting roles.
