Real Madrid aim to revolve sporting project around Kylian Mbappe ahead of Vinicius Jr: Report

The French star has failed to make any real influence for Los Blancos

Real Madrid plan to focus their sporting project on Kylian Mbappé, not Vinicius Jr, in an attempt to settle the France skipper following a challenging start to life in the Spanish capital, according to Cadena SER.

The 25-year-old’s start with the Champions League champions hasn’t gone as planned. He primarily plays as a centre forward, although since joining from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window, the Los Merengues assault has appeared more haphazard.

Mbappé’s team is concerned about the current state of affairs and worries that if he keeps playing as a striker, his career at the LaLiga team may come to a standstill.

But according to a recent SPORT story, Real Madrid would be prepared to put the former Monaco attacker on the left wing and give him priority over Vinicius Jr.

Florentino Perez might be prepared to step in and give the France international what he wants, despite Ancelotti’s current attempt to balance playing both strikers.

Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr ‘won’t be able to work things out’

According to the Spanish daily, the LaLiga team are worried that the two forwards won’t be able to work things out before a tough choice needs to be made.

Kylian Mbappé has had many difficulties since joining Real Madrid. Despite his impressive stats—eight goals and two assists in 15 games—he is still getting used to the style of play of his new side as the main striker.

At the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26, Real Madrid were crushed 4-0 by Barcelona, making his El Clásico debut especially heartbreaking. With a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, the difficulties persisted.

With a cumulative score of 7-1 in those games, that loss was Madrid’s second straight home loss. Mbappé, PSG’s all-time leading scorer, found it difficult to have a significant influence in either game.
