Spanish giants Real Madrid have already commenced their pre-season preparations as well as their transfer activity on the market in order to get geared up for the upcoming 2024–25 campaign.

In the 2023-24 season, Los Blancos enjoyed an incredible club campaign, claiming the LaLiga and UEFA Champions League titles along with the Spanish Super Cup to complete an astounding treble of trophies.

Despite all their stellar success, the Madrid hierarchy led by President Florentino Pérez are leaving no stone unturned in this summer transfer window as they aim to replicate the achievements in the upcoming season.

Real Madrid kicked off their summer with the superstar signing of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer saga was finally brought to an end when Mbappe was unveiled in a Madrid shirt in front of a jam-packed Santiago Bernabeu chanting his name.

In his farewell campaign for PSG, the 25-year-old forward bagged an incredible 44 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions, enabling the French giants to clinch the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France trophy. Due to his impressive performances, Mbappe was also named Ligue 1 Player of the Season for a record fifth time in his career. During Euro 2024, Kylian Mbappe led France to the semifinals of the tournament.

In addition, Real Madrid also announced the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, who finally joined the club from Palmeiras. Last season, the 18-year-old forward made 22 appearances for the Brazilian side across all competitions, registering four goals and two assists in the process. He was also called up by manager Dorival Junior to represent Brazil in Copa America 2024.

With more lethal firepower added to the club’s already star-studded attacking arsenal, Madrid are undoubtedly going to be an unstoppable force up front next season.

On the other hand, there have also been several noticeable outgoings from the club this summer.

Former captain Nacho Fernández bid an emotional goodbye to Real Madrid this summer after an amazing 18 years at the historic club. Following the expiration of his contract, the 34-year-old versatile defender signed with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah on a free transfer. For the upcoming season, Luka Modric was announced as the new club captain after extending his contract until 2025.

However, the biggest departure so far was of legendary midfielder Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement from football at the age of 34.

After a stellar loan spell last season, Madrid initially activated Joselu’s buy option clause to sign him on a permanent deal from Espanyol. However, the 34-year-old striker then secured a move to Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa for the same fee.

Talented centre-back Rafa Marín completed a permanent transfer to Italian side Napoli, whereas goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to his parent club Chelsea at the end of his loan deal.

With Real Madrid prioritising calculative recruitment for the remainder of the summer transfer window, further potential incomings and outgoings are still a very strong possibility.
