Real Madrid boss Alvaro Arbeloa shares update on Kylian Mbappe's injury

Real Madrid are “very clear” about Kylian Mbappé’s knee issue, according to coach Álvaro Arbeloa. Moreover, on Sunday, he acknowledged that Mbappé is in doubt to play Manchester City after the star forward was sidelined for an undetermined amount of time this week.
Since before Christmas, Kylian Mbappé has been experiencing pain in his left knee. Madrid have been trying to manage the ailment by frequently resting the player, such as during last month’s LaLiga victory over Real Sociedad, the Spanish Supercopa semifinal, and the December loss (league phase) to Manchester City.
Alvaro Arbeloa issues worrying Kylian Mbappe injury update

When Kylian Mbappé missed the Champions League playoff second leg against SL Benfica earlier this week, Arbeloa acknowledged that his absence “won’t be a question of days, it will be longer.” However, the club haven’t released an official medical report outlining the issue.
Arbeloa: “It’s very clear to us: what’s wrong, and what we want now. It’s that [Mbappé] recovers totally from the discomfort, so he can come back at 100%, with complete confidence and security — when he feels totally recovered, and that discomfort has disappeared.”
Madrid will play City at the Bernabéu on Wednesday, March 11, after entertaining Celta Vigo in LaLiga on Friday. On Monday, 2 March, they will face Getafe.
On March 14, they play Elche, and on March 17, they play the UCL second leg in Manchester. Arbeloa responded, “We’ll see, day by day,” when asked if Kylian Mbappé would return to play against one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs. “He will see how he feels, how he recovers and evolves.”
In order to be ready for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, Arbeloa denied that players like Kylian Mbappé would want to avoid aggravating an injury during the season.
