Xabi Alonso used several of his first-team players in the game.
In a practice game this morning on Pitch 7 at Valdebebas, the location where the team’s second reserve squad often plays, Real Madrid trounced Leganes 4-1.
On paper, the lineup that Xabi Alonso selected included a lot of first-team regulars and was clearly an offensive one.
Kylian Mbappe wore his latest shirt number, the No. 10, while Alvaro Carreras, who signed after the FIFA Club World Cup, made his debut in what looked to be a 4-3-3 formation. Vinicius Jr. and Gonzalo Garcia joined the French attacker up front.
Dani Carvajal, who had recovered from a significant knee injury, began at the back. He grabbed the leader’s armband here after having already played minutes in the US.
Thibaut Courtois was in goal; Carvajal, Dean Huijsen, Raul Asencio, and Carreras were in defence; Fede Valverde, Dani Ceballos, and Brahim Diaz were in the middle of the field; and Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Gonzalo were in attack.
This lineup might be utilised in the first league game on August 19 at the Santiago Bernabeu against Osasuna.

Details are now limited because it was a friendly played behind closed doors, but according to Rodra of ESPN, young player Thiago Pitarch, who has been working with the first squad this week, had a chance on the day and ended it with a goal.
