Real Madrid considering leaving LaLiga after Jude Bellingham's controversial red card: Report

The Spanish team felt their midfielder received an unfair red card.
After Jude Bellingham’s red card incident, Real Madrid are apparently thinking of leaving LaLiga and joining another big European league.
When official José Luis Munuera Montero gave Bellingham a straight red card during Madrid’s most recent 1-1 draw with Osasuna, controversy broke. In the 39th minute of the game, the 21-year-old allegedly yelled obscene words at the match official, which resulted in his instant sent-off.
But according to the English midfielder, his remarks were misunderstood, and he screamed “f*ck off” because he was angry with himself, not the referee.
Real Madrid are reportedly considering a first-ever move away from Spain’s top division, with the club reportedly considering Germany’s Bundesliga, France’s Ligue 1, and Italy’s Serie A as possible new homes. This comes amid serious concerns about the officiating standards in LaLiga, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Even if it’s a thrilling thought, it would be extremely difficult for Madrid to leave LaLiga. The transfer would require approval from FIFA, UEFA, and the regulatory body of any prospective new league. There is a complicated regulatory environment around such a change, and no club of Madrid’s size has ever tried it.
This season, Madrid have been disappointed by several incidents, the most recent of which being Bellingham’s red card. After losing to Espanyol 1-0, the team filed an official complaint with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) earlier this month, claiming “serious refereeing misconduct.”
Bellingham is currently facing a suspension that may last anywhere from four to twelve games due to his red card and the alleged verbal outburst.
The midfield player will miss a number of important games, including LaLiga matches against Girona, Real Betis, and Rayo Vallecano if the punishment is enforced. He would also miss the February 26 first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final matchup with Real Sociedad.
