Los Blancos are left with no first-choice right-back options.
According to Spanish media, Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal will be sidelined for at least four weeks due to a calf injury. The team announced on Sunday regarding the injury.
After playing in seven of Real Madrid’s eight games across all competitions this season, he was forced to leave the field after an hour during Saturday’s 5-2 LaLiga derby loss to Atletico Madrid.
After missing nine months of action due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, the 33-year-old had made a comeback in July for the FIFA Club World Cup semifinals.

However, the veteran right-back has been hit with another injury blow during the derby game. He will miss a significant period on the sidelines and will also miss crucial Madrid matches.
“After the tests carried out today on our player Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle of his right leg,” Real said in a statement.
The club were vague about how long he was going to be out, but according to daily Marca, Dani Carvajal will probably miss Barcelona’s October 26 visit. They predict he will be out for almost a month.
Moreover, the club are also dealing with another injury to their right-back area after Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained an injury. He will be out longer than Carvajal.
Due to injuries to centre back Antonio Rudiger and fellow right back Trent Alexander-Arnold, manager Xabi Alonso is left with few defensive choices. Meanwhile, Real’s next UEFA Champions League matchup is against Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
