Madrid will host Barcelona on Sunday.
Real Madrid have received positive news ahead their one of their crucial games of the season, after Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal, Dean Huijsen and Dani Ceballos are back for El Clásico.
Alexander-Arnold, Carvajal and Huijsen were expected to be on the sidelines for a longer period of time, but have now recovered on time for the match.
In an attempt to heal in time for El Clásico, Huijsen missed the games against Getafe and Juventus due to a minor calf injury he sustained during Spain’s training camp during this FIFA break.
Dean Huijsen will undoubtedly be in the starting lineup with Eder Militao because he is Xabi Alonso’s undeniable starter. Against Barcelona’s consitent pressing, his ability to pass and his composure when distributing the ball from the back line will be vital.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is back in training and might make a comeback to the team against Barcelona after suffering a hamstring injury early in the September Champions League match against Marseille.
Meanwhile, Carvajal’s return is another big boost for Alonso, who will now have two options for the right-back spot. Despite the arrival of Alexander-Arnold, the Spanish full-back has received a fair share of minutes on the pitch.
Ceballos’ addition will be another major lift for Los Blancos, who have started the new season under Alonso on a flying note and remain top of the table with 24 points, two points ahead of Barcelona.
However, despite the absence of Carvajal and Trent, Alonso has deployed Federico Valverde as the right-back, who has excelled in the position, and is expected to start ahead of the actual full-back duo. Given that Carvajal and Trent have recently returned from injury, they could feature off the bench.
Besides that, Madrid don’t have any injury issues and will be hoping to collect all three points on Sunday at Bernabeu.
Which injury did Alexander-Arnold suffer?
He sustained a hamstring injury against Marseille.
Who will start at right-back?
Valverde is still expected to start as right-back.
