Los Blancos are dealing with an injury crisis.
For Sunday’s LaLiga match against Alavés, Real Madrid may have up to 12 absences. Xabi Alonso is still worried about Kylian Mbappé’s injury, although the forward resumed training on Friday.
After experiencing knee pain during last Sunday’s game against Celta at the Bernabéu, Mbappé missed Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Manchester City. Furthermore, he has a fractured finger.
Kylian Mbappe in contention to face Alaves

Mbappé is not entirely ruled out, but it appears doubtful that he will play against Alavés, according to ESPN. The forward from France hasn’t been practising with the team lately.
ESPN has further reported that, if his knee gets better, he may be able to be on the squad to face Alaves, which will be the most crucial match for Alonso’s future at the club.
Other injury updates
Due to injuries, Madrid will be missing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, and Éder Militão this weekend. Additionally, Álvaro Carreras and Fran García are suspended.
Alonso will therefore be unable to field any full-backs from the first squad at Vitoria, and it is anticipated that local teenager Víctor Valdepeñas would be called up.
Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rüdiger, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fede Valverde are also unlikely to play against Alavés.
For Xabi Alonso, who is facing heat at Real Madrid as his team lags Barcelona by four points in LaLiga, Sunday might be crucial. In their last five league games, Madrid have only won once.
His future at the club is at stake as Real have been underwhelming. A defeat on Sunday could be the final nail in the coffin for Alonso.
