Los Blancos are dealing with many injured players.
Due to a knee injury, Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will not play in Sunday’s LaLiga home match against Real Betis. However, manager Xabi Alonso has stated that Mbappe is working hard to be eligible for next week’s Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atletico Madrid.
The 27-year-old French captain has a sprained left knee. On December 20, Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 2-0 in LaLiga. At first, it was thought that such an injury would require a minimum of three weeks of inactivity.

“We’ll definitely miss Kylian,” Alonso told reporters on Saturday. “We have to have a lot of faith in those who are going to play tomorrow (today vs Real Betis).”
“Now we’ll see. We have to wait and see how things develop, and we’ll do everything we can to get him back as soon as possible.”
“We’re going to be pushing the deadlines; it’s very much a matter of feelings. When is as soon as possible? That’s the question. I don’t know. The Super Cup? We hope.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a difficult first season at Real Madrid due to an ongoing hamstring problem that doesn’t seem to be going away. According to reports, he won’t return to the field for the LaLiga powerhouses until at least February, if not longer.
Due to a hamstring injury, Eder Militao, who has been outstanding since coming back from his extended absences due to several ACL tears, will be out for a considerable amount of time. He will be out for up to four months due to a tear to the “biceps femoris tendon” in his left hamstring, the club stated after he left in the 24th minute of their loss to Celta Vigo.
