The Los Blancos want to replace the Argentine with Eduardo Camavinga.
Enzo Fernandez is reportedly on Real Madrid’s radar for the 2025 summer transfer window, and Chelsea want €80 million for him.
After an up-and-down start to life at Stamford Bridge, the Argentina international has excelled for the Blues in the 2024-25 season and shown some signs of development under Enzo Maresca.
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Fernandez is keen to stay at Chelsea, but it appears like he has a price, and Real Madrid are considering signing him in the summer because of their long-standing admiration for the player.
According to the source, Eduardo Camavinga may be replaced by Fernandez, other well-known players like Joao Neves and Adam Wharton are also on Los Blancos’ midfield target list.
He can play a wide variety of roles in the middle of the pitch, just like Camavinga, and this season, he has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best central midfielders.
After spending so much money to recruit Fernandez from Benfica, Chelsea may have expected more from him, but he is beginning to live up to the lofty expectations placed on him.
Even though Fernandez might be eager to move to Bernabeu, it is imperative that the West Londoners keep him and continue to build around him for the future as he is just 24.
The 24-year-old will undoubtedly have lofty goals, and he may believe that Real Madrid are a better option for him to win more trophies in his career soon.
Even though Chelsea have a youthful, energetic team and a lot of ambition, they still don’t seem like they can contend for the big trophies anytime soon as their performances have been inconsistent.
Undoubtedly, keeping Fernandez would help them achieve that goal, but if Madrid are prepared to sign him and offer him a significant role and the opportunity to play with superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham, the player may be willing to open to the idea of joining them.
