Real Madrid postpone contract talks with Vinicius Jr until end of season: Report

The Spanish club have put contract talks on hold with the player.
Real Madrid contract talks with forward Vinicius Jr have hit a roadblock as both parties have now put a hold on the discussion of the new deal.
According to journalist Manu Carreno on El Larguero, Madrid and Vinicius have decided to put off the contract talks until the end of the current season.
The Brazilian’s current deal with the club expires in 2027, and the team is keen on locking down the player for more years. But both Vinicius Jr and the club have not been able to find a way to agree on a new deal.
Since the start of 2025, Madrid have been in talks with the forward to tie him down for more years, but the 25-year-old has not yet been convinced to ink a new deal.
However, the reports from Spain revealed that progress in a contract was being made, and both parties were moving towards a new long-term deal. But the Brazilian player’s demand for high wages has seen the talks put on hold for some time.
