Real Madrid ready to replace Vinícius Jr with Manchester City star Erling Haaland: Report

The club has not reached an agreement with the Brazilian for a new deal.

Real Madrid are already planning the replacement of Vinicius Jr as the efforts to renew his contract with a new long-term deal have collapsed.

If Real Madrid fail to tie up winger Vinícius Júnior to a new deal, they will attempt to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, according to Diario Sport. Vinícius Júnior, 25, is demanding a five-year contract and €25 million per season, and Los Blancos have indicated no intention of fulfilling his demands.

If he fails to agree to new terms by next summer, they will make him available for transfer. The 25-year-old Haaland is a strong contender to succeed the Brazil forward at the Bernabéu, as club president Florentino Pérez has long admired him.

Madrid identifies a Replacement for Vinicius Jr

The club does not consider Vinicius to be untouchable, even though they recognise his significance. With his current contract expiring in 2027, the club don’t want to prevent a situation in which he could depart for free.

Real Madrid have a definite plan in place in case Vinicius leaves. The team would rekindle their long-standing interest in Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

Florentino Perez has had his eye on the striker for many years, and his close relationship with Jude Bellingham may be the key to persuading him to join the club.

Rafaela Pimienta, Haaland’s agent, has a good rapport with Real Madrid and has said in the past that the forward’s transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu would be contingent upon either Vinicius or Kylian Mbappe leaving the team.

The possible sale of Vinicius might help finance the approximately €180 million market value of Haaland. The current position of Real Madrid is that they would like to retain Vinicius, but not at any expense. He is still an important part of the idea, but if renewal negotiations go on, the club is ready to take serious action.
