Madrid and Juventus clash off in another thrilling Champions League game.

In front of a crowded Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid and Juventus will square off on Europe’s grandest stage for the first time in seven years.

Since their debut match in 1962, the two European powerhouses have fought one another in numerous Champions League matches. Their matchup in 2017, however, was the most significant. Real Madrid overcame Juventus to become the first and only team in history to win the Champions League twice in a row.

For both teams, a lot has changed since that Cardiff night. There are many fresh faces since that night on the field for both sides. Most recently, Real Madrid and Juventus faced off in the round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

The Italian powerhouses, who have had little influence in the Champions League in recent years, lost to PSV Eindhoven in the elimination playoffs after finishing 20th in the league phase table the previous season.

This time, their primary goal is to get into the top eight and advance directly to the round of 16. But after two tense draws, Igor Tudor’s team is already under pressure to perform.

Meanwhile, Madrid will look to extend their winning streak in the competition after securing two wins in their last two matches. They remain eighth in the table.
