Roberto Mancini led Italy to the Euro trophy in 2020.

Roberto Mancini is expected to get a huge payout after just 14 months as the manager of the Saudi Arabian national team.

Saudi Arabia appointed the 59-year-old former Manchester City manager last summer, in what at the time was considered a significant coup. However, he was fired after overseeing just seven victories in 18 games.

“The Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation and the coach of the national team, Roberto Mancini, reached a joint agreement today, which includes the end of the contractual relationship,” the statement said Thursday night, confirming Mancini’s departure.

In addition, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) disclosed that Roberto Mancini’s replacement would be named in the days leading up to their November World Cup qualifying matches against Australia and Indonesia.

Mancini reportedly signed an agreement for four years with the SAFF that will go until 2027 back in 2023. According to reports, it was the highest-paying position in football for the Italian coach.

Since he had around three years left on his contract when he left, Roberto Mancini stands to gain a little fortune from his disastrous time in the Middle East, which may total around £65 million based on his total salary package.

According to reports in Italy, Mancini’s connection with the players deteriorated as his time there came to a close. Right now, Saudi Arabia are in third place in their World Cup qualification group.

After Saudi Arabia’s disappointing 0-0 tie with Bahrain earlier this month, Mancini was reportedly spotted arguing with a few fans.

The former Italian coach, who won the Premier League title while he was at Manchester City his time as manager of Saudi Arabia came to an abrupt end.

Only two weeks prior to accepting the Saudi Arabia position, Mancini resigned as head coach of the Italian national team. During his tenure as Italy’s manager, he defeated England in the Wembley final to win Euro 2020.
