Amorim says he wants to manage United for 20 years.
Despite having a terrible first season, Ruben Amorim has set his eyes on a spectacular 20-year stint (or even more) at Manchester United.
The Portuguese coach has expressed gratitude to the clubâs management for supporting him during a difficult beginning and is confident that, with enough time, help, and good fortune, he can return the Red Devils to the top of English football after years of mediocrity.
Amorim had a difficult start to life at Old Trafford, losing 14 of 27 Premier League games under his management and finishing in 15th place, which will prevent them from playing in Europe next season.
He is dedicated to the long run and hopes to create something enduring at Manchester United in spite of the poor season. He acknowledged that the previous season was difficult, but he is prepared to move on.
Amorim wants to dedicate 20 years to United
Speaking to the media, Amorim said:
âYeah, I want to stay. I want to stay 20 (years). That is my goal, and I truly believe in that. Always do. Something will happen. In some moments, I will be lucky. I had a lot of luck during my career as a manager, and my idea is to stay for many years.
âBut again, we know that the results will dictate that. I know that last season I used up all the credits, but Iâm ready to start fresh.
âI want to be the manager of Manchester United for a while. And I took five years to choose this club, so I donât want to fail.â
Amorim is appreciative of the support he has gotten from Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada, two members of Manchester Unitedâs new leadership group.
He thinks the clubâs identity and competitiveness can be restored by INEOSâ plan and vision. He believes the groundwork for success is being established with solid financial support and a long-term strategy.
The Red Devils come to Carrington hoping to build on their disappointing season the previous year and make quick improvement under Amorim.
In the market, the Portuguese leader has been active. In order to establish his position and demonstrate his long-term vision, early outcomes in the upcoming season will be crucial.
