The Red Devils are expected to bring in new players.
Manchester United have finalised a plan for the January transfer window, according to Ruben Amorim. Antoine Semenyo is not expected to be one of United’s “space” additions, according to the Red Devils manager Amorim.
The 25-year-old Semenyo is anticipated to join their fierce rivals, Manchester City, when the transfer market opens on Thursday, January 1, despite strong pressure from Old Trafford officials.
Semenyo’s £65 million release clause is about to be activated by City, defeating teams like United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham in their attempts to recruit him.
Ruben Amorim comments on Manchester United’s January transfer plans

Amorim won’t sign players just for the purpose of signing them, but United are nevertheless getting ready for a busy month. In an interview with Sky Sports before the Red Devils’ Boxing Day match against Newcastle United, the manager clarified:
“We have space to have more players, but it is a very important thing in our club that we have a plan and we need to bring players that we know.”
“It’s hard to know for sure that everything is going to work, but we need to be certain of the players that we bring [in]. If we are not sure, it’s better not to bring anyone and to work with the players that we have. That is clear for me.”
“Maybe I should be different like so many managers, but that is my thinking and I think it’s the thinking of the board that we cannot do the same mistakes that we did in the past and we need to survive these moments because we have players coming from international [teams] and from Europe.”
Amorim needs little time to decide if a target suits his team. He further added:
“I think I have a good feeling on that. That’s why we will not bring in a player that has that feeling face-to-face.”
