The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to a Spanish club.

Bruno Fernandes has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Ruben Amorim has stated that the Manchester United skipper “it’s not going to happen”.

Despite Manchester United’s recent struggles with consistency and form, Fernandes has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top performers. According to reports during the past few months, the Portuguese midfielder may leave the Red Devils in order to pursue his goal of winning major titles.

The versatile midfielder has failed to win any major trophy since joining Man Utd, and Los Blancos can play a big role in helping him win significant titles with them.

Real Madrid, the 15-time European champions, have been linked with Fernandes as Los Blancos try to bolster their midfield before the upcoming campaign. He can also be seen as veteran star Luka Modric’s replacement at the club.

“It’s not going to happen”: Ruben Amorim on reports linking Bruno Fernandes with Real Madrid

Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has emphasized the Red Devils captain’s value to the team and stated that he will not be leaving the team in the summer.

Speaking to the media, Amorim said: “No, it’s [move to Real Madrid] not going to happen.”

On Fernandes wanting to win titles, he added: “That is the challenge. I want Bruno here because we want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players. He’s [30] but still so [fit], plays 55 games every season and between assists and goals, he’s there for 30 at least, so he’s not going anywhere.

“We are in control of the situation and I feel that he is really happy here. Sometimes, the frustration that everybody sees and [they] maybe say is not a good thing in a captain, but it’s a sign he wants this [success] so bad. He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him.”

Fernandes has maintained his excellent play for the Red Devils this season, and as they strive for the Europa League trophy, he will try to produce top performances once again. Tonight, United will play their Premier League match at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.
