The Red Devils will once again look to shore up their squad in the summer window.
Ruben Amorim has sent an indirect warning to the Manchester United board regarding the transfer-related business. The head coach made scathing remarks on the club’s previous signings.
Amorim, who took charge of the club amid the season, has struggled to spearhead the club to winning ways following the Red Devils’ sluggish start of the new season under Erik ten Hag.
During the previous summer window, the club bought plenty of new players to help the Dutchman reinforce the squad for the current season, but so far, neither of the players has been convincing with their performance.
The club continued to suffer defeats which saw United’s management deciding to sack the former Ajax head coach and bring Amorim as his successor. So far, things have been the same even under the Portuguese, as Man Utd are currently 13th in the Premier League table.
It was believed United would make a few signings to help Amorim bolster some areas in the January window but they managed to bring only two players to hopefully salvage the season. On top of that Amorim has not been happy with the club’s transfer business and has sent management an indirect warning for the upcoming summer window. The Portuguese coach said:
“We are being really careful with transfers because we did some mistakes in the past…”.
Ruben Amorim’s words make sense as Manchester United’s previous signings have majorly been flops and most of them never made any impact at the club. The former Sporting manager will hope that the club will give him some say in their next summer window as he aims to bring in those players who can excel under his system.
It’s time for the club to start making smart signings in order to return to dominance.
