Ruben Amorim urges Manchester United to find the next Cristiano Ronaldo

The Red Devils head coach asks the club to scout in Portugal.
According to reports, Ruben Amorim wants Manchester United to increase its scouting efforts in Portugal in order to find the next Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to the Mirror, Amorim thinks that the United scouting network needs a serious overhaul and that his home country of Portugal is where they might discover the next big star.
The new manager at Old Trafford is urging the team to improve their scouting procedures and structure because he feels they haven’t really found any Portuguese superstar since they signed Ronaldo from Sporting CP. That thing happened more than 20 years ago. He also thinks United have lost out on a number of players who could have joined if they had been keeping a closer eye on the area.
United have actually had some success signing from the Portuguese division in recent years, however. Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have been regular names on the teamsheet since their arrivals in Manchester and have fared better than the likes of Bebe and goalkeeper Joel Pereira. Nani also had bright spells in England but they have not matched Ronaldo’s feats when he first joined the club.
The Red Devils have failed to find a player who can make a massive impact and has the ability to take the match on his head and turn the circumstances around consistently. With Cristiano Ronaldo, the club were always seen as favourites to win every game.
Ronaldo provided all sorts of advantages in the attack and United were one of the most threatening sides with their forward line. Amorim feels the club once again need another game-changer who can bring that winning mentality to the dressing room.
Manchester United have games against Wolves and Newcastle United to finish the year before they can start considering buying any players in January. Amorim will be looking for two wins to move his team up the standings, as the team is now sagging in 13th place.
