St. Louis City SC on the other hand started their campaign with a goalless draw against Colorado Rapids in the opening game. They will be aiming to have a better season this time around after finishing 12th in the Western Conference last season. In the opening game, their lack of finishing chances cost them the match after creating two big chances to finish the game, with their only positive goal being keeping a clean sheet in that game.

Joao Klauss (⁠St. Louis City SC)

Joao Klauss remains a vital part of this team for the new season. Last season, he showcased his potential throughout the season but was unable to score the goals more consistently. In the last match against Colorado, he came very close to coming on the score sheet after managing four shots out of which two were on target.
