The Brazilian has once again suffered an injury.
âThe club is prepared to present a âconcrete projectâ for Neymar to rejoin his boyhood club,â asserted Santos president Marcelo Teixeira.
The legendary Brazilian team intend to entice the Al-Hilal star to return to his native country by offering him a significant project in the upcoming year. Santos are ready to bring in the 32-year-old by next summer if Neymar does leave the Saudi Pro League team even as early as January 2025, as has been suggested.
Since arriving at Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Neymar has had a terrible time. Last October, he had an ACL injury while playing for his country, which kept him out of the action for about a year.
However, Neymar has experienced yet another injury setback that will keep him out of action for the next four to six weeks, following a brief recovery last month.
According to CNN Brazil, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira discussed the Neymar problem with Estadao, saying:
âWe havenât decided on the 2025 competitions yet. We canât make hypothetical assumptions. If he cancels his contract, if he becomes free, we have a connection with his family and the athlete. We monitor, follow up, and have a concrete project that weâve already discussed a few times. Weâll continue to monitor.
âThis is not the time for Santos to rush into anything. The need is to be in the SĂ©rie A by 2025. Then, everything changes based on revenue priorities, and ongoing projects. Today, making any hopes in this sense affects Santos and Brazilian football too much. We have to be careful and cautious.â
One year after being demoted to the second division, Santos were promoted to the top division of the Brazilian Serie A on Monday. They will also get a financial boost that might enable them to pay for Neymar the following season.
The former Barcelona attacker, however, is currently hoping to completely recover from his most recent injury and play for Al-Hilal before the conclusion of this year. It is unclear if Neymar will be included in the squad for the second half of the 2024â25 season after being left unregistered by the Saudi club for domestic competitions during the first half.
