Santos president speaks on Neymar's future at the club beyond 2025

The Brazilian has scored two goals since his return to the club.
Marcelo Teixeira, the president of Santos, is still optimistic that Neymar will continue with the team until at least the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After amicably ending his contract with Al-Hilal in January, Neymar made his comeback to his boyhood club, Santos, after more than ten years. Although the Brazilian forward signed just a six-month contract, club president Teixeira is still optimistic that the 33-year-old will stay with the team once his current term ends.
The Santos chief claimed this in an interview with ESPN:
“With Neymar’s arrival, we have 75,000 members. Today, we can measure what is related to the technical aspect, what represents the financial aspect. All financial objectives will be increased, above what we previously estimated. If everything goes well, the tendency is for this partnership to continue and be expanded until next year’s World Cup.”
In a Paulista Championship match against Inter de Limeira on Sunday, the 33-year-old struck his second goal in his sixth game for Santos. He produced a world-class “Olimpico goal” by placing the ball straight into the net from a corner.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star has already proved his fitness and returned to his best level at Santos, which will alert many top clubs who will feel the Brazilian can still contribute and make a significant influence for the team in matches.
Neymar has not yet made up his mind about staying in Brazil after this season. According to Cadena SER, the Brazil legend is eager to show himself to Barcelona and secure a second stint at Camp Nou, which has led to rumours that he will return to Europe in the summer.
But as of now, the Santos fans will enjoy Neymar’s time at the club as he would want to entertain the fans more in upcoming matches and demonstrate that he still possesses that magic on the pitch which he used to display during his peak playing time.
