"I will score the winning goal against PSG," predicts Barcelona's Lamine Yamal ahead of UCL tie

PSG will host Barcelona in first-leg of Champions League

Before Barcelona’s away game against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal, young attacker Lamine Yamal has made a daring prediction.

In a conversation with Mundo Deportivo, the 16-year-old claimed that his team would win 1-0 and that he would score the goal.

“My prediction for the first leg vs. PSG? 1-0 win, I will score the goal.”Calm and collected, Yamal talked about the Barcelona vs. PSG game that’s coming up and expressed his desire to see the final at Wembley. In addition to highlighting the fact that Barcelona would need to put on a fantastic display to defeat PSG, the young player stated that the group needs to keep playing with the current momentum.

“It’s my first quarterfinal tie and it’s a dream to be able to play in them,” he said. “Play the way we play, our game and dominate them.”

“These playoffs are decided by details. If one team fails, the other will take advantage of it and in the Champions League, above all, you have to play with great intensity.”

“All teams now have the same possibilities. You have to beat PSG and then in a semi-final, anything can happen,” he said.

“We are all focused on thinking about Wednesday’s game, which is going to be one of the most important of the season.”

While discussing Kylian Mbappe, who is sure to be a formidable opponent for Barcelona’s defence, Yamal stated that he always tries to fulfil his defensive responsibilities.

“Not only with Mbappe. I always try with the winger that is on my wing. It already happened with Kvaratskhelia.”

“He is a player who will do something different for me in anything I focus on. That’s why I think I have to help the side and that’s it.”

Finally, he responded, “0-1,” adding that he would be the match’s scorer, in response to a question regarding his prediction of the score.
