Scotland predicted lineup vs Brazil for FIFA World Cup 2026

Scotland will clash against Brazil on June 25 IST.
Having a positive result in their last Group C match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Brazil could make all the difference for Scotland to progress to the knockout stages. It was a 1-0 win over Haiti on opening day, followed by a 1-0 loss to Morocco for Steve Clarke’s side. The Scots are still in contention with three points from two matches on the scoreboard before they clash with Brazil. The South Americans are tied at the top with four points and are aiming for a berth in the next round, too.
The Scots are likely to retain their faith in many of the players they saw against Morocco. There are, however, some fitness concerns for Steve Clarke before the bout as Aaron Hickey, Scott McKenna and Lewis Ferguson all skip Sunday’s workout. Ferguson and McKenna, however, are still considered viable options.
Who all will be expected in the starting lineup?

Angus Gunn is expected to start in goal for Scotland. The back four is likely to consist of Nathan Patterson and Andy Robertson as the full-backs, with Grant Hanley and Jack Hendry expected to continue as the central defensive pairing.
In midfield, Ben Doak and Ryan Christie will be in wide positions with Scott McTominay, Lewis Ferguson and John McGinn in central areas. The five-man midfield will be required to keep attacks at bay and maintain defensive discipline.
Scotland’s only striker will be expected to lead the line as Ché Adams. He will be crucial in his movement and hold-up play against the Brazilian defence.

Despite concerns surrounding Ferguson’s fitness, the midfielder is expected to be fit enough to start if selected. Scotland will rely heavily on the experience of Robertson, McTominay and McGinn as they seek a result that could secure progression.
