Scotland announce squad for October international break; Scott McTominay included

The Scots will face Portugal and Croatia this month.
There are three fresh faces in the team that Steve Clarke has picked for the forthcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Portugal. Nicky Devlin, Liam Lindsay and Andy Irving all have earned their initial call-ups.
This campaign, midfielder Irving made his debut for West Ham United, while Aberdeen’s Devlin and Preston North End’s Lindsay remain regular for their teams.
Striker Che Adams, who was injured and missed the September games against Portugal and Poland, has also returned to the squad.
After missing the previous game due to injury, Celtic players Greg Taylor and James Forrest are back in the team. Craig Gordon, the goalkeeper who earned his 75th Scotland cap in June, is also included.
Without an appearance for Dundee, Jon McCracken has also kept his spot since his initial call-up last month for the national team.
John McGinn, Scotland’s vice-captain, is out, though. Tommy Conway and Scott McKenna, who played in the two games last month, are also sidelined due to injuries.
Due to personal issues, Austin MacPhee, Steve Clarke’s assistant coach, has departed the coaching staff. He will no longer be serving as a set-piece expert.
