The Tartan Army will take on the Pirate Ship in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League

Greece closed out their 2024-25 UEFA Nations League campaign in style as they picked up a 2-0 victory over Finland. Greece picked up an impressive 15 points from a possible 18 to finish second in group standings, only being first-placed England in the automatic promotion spot on goal difference. But they will be extremely disappointed with their loss against Scotland in the first leg as the home side was clearly the better team. They created plenty of opportunities but failed to put those into the net. Now they travel to Glasgow to take on Scotland in the second leg which will surely be a tough place to be as an away side. The Azure & White will have to be at their best to win the second leg.

On the other hand, Scotland picked up two wins from their final two group outings, seeing off Croatia 1-0 and a victory over Poland. Their performance in the Nations League was full of ups and downs which put pressure on Steve Clarke but he has somehow led his men with courage. Scotland were a bit lucky as they won the first leg with a penalty goal scored by Scott McTominay against Greece in their own backyard. Surely now they will be confident going into the second leg as they will have a strong home crowd behind them to support them. This will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.

Players to Watch

Lewis Ferguson (Scotland)

Power, strength and agility are physical traits that best describe Ferguson’s physical makeup on the pitch, his strength isn’t just limited to his duels though, he is also a powerful carrier and has incredible shooting power. Ferguson has always been characterized as a player with an outstanding engine even right from his time in Scotland. Tenacity and boldness can be used to best describe Ferguson’s mental profiling. His attitude to the game also puts his engine to the maximum usage winning duels on either side of midfield as well as in deeper zones of the field. He has played 12 matches this season for Bologna in which he scored once and provided one assist.

Christos Tzolis (Greece)

His physical attributes mean he does not get shrugged off the ball easily and has good balance when running with the ball at his feet, while also being rather strong aerially. Tzolis is quite versatile and plays any position across the frontline, although playing on the left is his strongest position.

Tzolis plays more of a second striker at times rather than a winger, making intelligent runs into the box and getting himself into excellent goalscoring positions as just a striker would. He will be disappointed with his first-leg performance he failed to score even after having some good chances. But with his quality, he can make a difference in the second leg. In 28 Belgian Pro League matches he has scored eight goals and has provided five assists.
