South Africa announce squad for March international break; Percy Tau returns

Bafana Bafana will face Benin and Lesotho in the qualifiers.
With Percy Tau making his eagerly anticipated comeback to the national team, South Africa have announced their squad for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
As South Africa get ready to play Lesotho on March 21 and Benin on March 25, the forward from Qatar, who hasn’t played for his country since June because of conflicts with the national team, is rejoining Hugo Broos’ squad.
Bafana Bafana will greatly benefit from Tau’s return as they attempt to secure their spot in the qualifiers. As the squad looks to earn as many points as possible from the two games, his attacking ability and experience will be crucial.
The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, who was forced to miss recent club games because of physical issues, is another noteworthy addition.
Broos has maintained his first-choice goalie on the team as Bafana Bafana’s last line of defense despite this. Despite his recent struggles with injury, Lyle Foster (Burnley) also makes the cut.
As South Africa strive to qualify for the World Cup, Broos’ dedication to having the best attacking options available is demonstrated by the participation of the Premier League forwards.
Broos has stressed the significance of earning all six points from these two games because South Africa are currently second in Group C qualification group.
