South Africa announce final squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 ft. Lyle Foster

Bafana Bafana to play a friendly against Nicaragua ahead of the mega competition!

The final list of players to represent the South Africa national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has now been unveiled. The mega competition is scheduled to start on June 11 and will be played in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

After their recent underwhelming performances at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 and the friendlies, Hugo Broos’ men will now shift focus to FIFA’s flagship tournament. They are placed in Group A along with the likes of Mexico, one of the co-hosts, South Korea and Czechia.

It shouldn’t be an easy group stage run for them. They will be looking to put in all their efforts.

Before setting foot on the grandest stage of them all, Bafana Bafana will play an international friendly contest against Nicaragua on May 29. This will be a perfect opportunity for them to build some momentum and test out their strategies.

The wait is now finally over as the final 26-man roster to feature South Africa at the FIFA World Cup 2026 has been announced.
