Southampton keen on bringing Real Madrid sensation Endrick on loan: Report
The Brazilian has barely played enough games this season.
Endrick, a Brazilian and Real Madrid star, has been linked to a surprise move to Premier League side Southampton. In a deal for up to £60 million, 18-year-old Endrick left Palmeiras for Real Madrid this summer.
With 13 caps for the Selecao already, additionally in which he scored his first goal against England at Wembley, the highly regarded youth had been making waves in Brazil before he was courted by Los Blancos who spent a big sum to sign the striker.
However, with the attacker far down the hierarchy behind players like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo, adjusting to the Spanish capital has started slowly.
Endrick has only appeared for 55 minutes in LaLiga games since moving to the Bernabeu. However, during that time he managed to score one goal and provide an assist.
According to reports, the emerging star may be prepared to go on loan from Real Madrid in order to improve his skills because he isn’t getting enough playing time here in Madrid.
Surprisingly, Southampton, led by Russell Martin, has been mentioned as a potential suitor for the attacker. The Saints are one of several teams that have expressed interest in the teenager, according to Spanish publication Sport.
They assert that teams like AS Roma and Real Valladolid will compete with Southampton for Endrick’s services.
Southampton need a creative boost because the St Mary’s team are at the bottom of the Premier League with just seven goals this season, which is the fewest in the league.
Before he chose to sign with Real Madrid, Endrick was linked to the Premier League last summer, with Chelsea competing for his talent.
Although the young player has already acknowledged that former England and Manchester United star Bobby Charlton is one of his idols, it is evident that he enjoys the English game.
The superstar’s Real Madrid teammates lovingly refer to him as “Bobby” as a result. Endrick was born in 2006, thirty-three years after Charlton’s retirement.
