Southampton vs Tottenham Prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds
The Saints have won once this season as they lurk in bottom place.
Southampton who are languishing in the relegation zone, are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are coming into this tie after playing a draw against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League league phase. At the St. Mary’s Stadium, they will be looking to secure their first win after a five-game winless streak.
Southampton have struggled to replicate their form this season as they languish at the bottom of the Premier League table. The Saints have just five points from starting 15 games and are eight points shy of safe zone for now. Although they are playing some good football at the moment, they are failing to convert into wins having lost two consecutive games in a row. Russell Martin must consider plenty of things as they aim to turn their season around with a win here.
Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand have endured mixed results in the Premier League this season. In the last game against Chelsea, despite taking a 2-0 lead within 12 minutes they eventually lost the match by 4-3. Pressure is starting to mount on the shoulders of Ange Postecoglou after a series of poor results which has seen them languish in the 11th position in the table which is one of their poor start to a season. The Lilywhites have also failed to win any of their last five games in all competitions.

Players to Watch
Ryan Manning (Southampton)
Ryan Manning has been one of the consistent performers for Southampton often delivering some eye-catching crosses in the box while also doing the defensive duties excellently. He is yet to register an assist this term due to his teammate’s inability to convert the chances having created ten chances for them. In defence, he has made 21 recoveries, six interceptions, eight tackles, and getting dribbled past just three times which is a good record for a fullback.
Dejan Kulusevski (Tottenham Hotspur)
Dejan Kulusevski is in fine form for Tottenham this season having scored three goals and assisting a further seven in all competitions. He has been in sensational form recently, first scoring a second goal against Chelsea and netting another one in the 1-1 draw against Rangers to salvage a draw for his side. While his attacking play has been superb, it is his defensive contribution that has also stood this season after making 61 ball recoveries, eight interceptions, and 10 blocks.
