Mikel Oyarzabal scored in injury time to guide LA Roja to Euro 2024

Spain beat England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, to win the championship a record-tying fourth time.

In the 86th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal scored the game-winning goal to help Spain win the European trophy and embark on an undefeated streak.

Spain first broke the deadlock when Nico Williams opened the score with an assist from 17-year-old Lamine Yamal in the 47th minute. Spain continued to create plenty of chances but Jordan Pickford came to the rescue with impressive saves. Yamal came very close to giving Spain another lead but Pickford pulled an excellent save.

England‘s fans were given hope when super sub-Cole Palmer scored a breathtaking long-range goal, but Oyarzabal’s late strike ended the celebration.

Spain were always better in the match and created so many chances and should have won with a comfortable margin.

Despite La Roja going ahead England had another chance to level the score after an open header from Declan Rice which Unai Simon parried away Ivan Toney was there to head but Dani Olmo headed the ball away.

The tournament’s indisputable best squad, the talk of football purists, the leading storytellers, the top goal scorers—the Spaniards—roared to their fourth European Championship.

With more four minutes added England were walking on a thin line were hoping to put their first major silverware drought to an end in the Euro 2021, as they looked for a goal against Spain, but unfortunately, The La Roja managed to keep their lead and as the referee blew the final whistle Spain were crowned champions.

One would say that La Roja deserved it as they were the tournament’s best side meanwhile, England’s route to the final was mixed with luck and determination, for La Roja. they will now enjoy their Euro 2024 and the Three Lions will once again wonder what went wrong in another Euro final.
