La Roja are one of the favourites to win the competition!
The Spain national football team are on a top run of form and they will now be shifting their focus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Led by Luís de la Fuente, they are going to play friendlies against Iraq and Peru ahead of the mega competition.
La Roja are the UEFA Euro 2024 winners and have been on a phenomenal run of form since then. They have only faced a defeat against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the UEFA Nations League 2025 final. Spain also finished unbeaten in the World Cup European qualifiers and secured a direct spot for the upcoming edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament.
Despite suffering from a minor injury, Lamine Yamal is most likely to be included in the final lineup. Mikel Oyarzabal, Martin Zubimendi and Pedro Porro will also be receiving a call-up due to their current run of form for both club and country.
The Spain national football team is placed in Group H along with the likes of Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. Their group stage journey is going to be comparatively easy, but fans will also be ready for some unexpected results on the grandest stage of them all.
Luís de la Fuente is doing a positive job at the moment. He will be looking to come up with the best tactics and might even help La Roja to clinch their second FIFA World Cup trophy ever. They clinched their first one in 2010. Alongside France and England, Spain are also one of the favourites to win the prestigious title this time around and with a good number of capable players in the squad, they are likely to have a slight edge.
