The Spain national football team are now aiming to clinch the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They are one of the favourites to lift the prestigious title along with the likes of France and England.
La Roja are one of the strongest sides on paper, with many top names included in the squad. But with a lot of competition for places, they have also left out some prominent stars. This was also not an easy task, as mentioned by the Spanish head coach.
“We think about every possible scenario that can happen in games with our opponents, and their characteristics. … We’ve chosen these 26. I think we’ve covered the needs of the team. … I don’t look at whether they play for one team or another,” said Luis de la Fuenta for leaving out well known players.
The Spain national football team last won FIFA’s flagship trophy in 2010. They once again have a chance with a stacked lineup and in-form players.
