Spain predicted lineup for France clash in Euro 2024 semi-final

Two powerhouses of world football battle for a place in the final.

Spain have been one of the dominant sides in the tournament and have showcased some wonderful football. After winning the group stage, La Roja was handed a tie against Georgia in the Round of 16. They ran riot in that match as they secured a thumping 4-1 win over them.

However, their real test came against the Germans in the last game after both teams contested the match for 120 minutes. They ultimately found the winner in the 119th minute after a thumping header from  Mikel Merino secured the win. 

Spain Predicted lineup (Formation: 4-3-3) 

GK: Unai Simon

Unai Simon has been in brilliant form for Spain between the sticks after another impressive performance against the Germans. He made an incredible save at the death to keep La Roja in the game. Simon’s stats so far include two clean sheets in four matches while also saving a penalty against Croatia to finish the match without conceding. 

RB: Jesus Navas

What a time to step up for your nation. With Dani Carvajal suspended, It is a golden chance for Navas to prove to be the hero of his nation. Navas delivered a fantastic performance against Albania in the final group game to keep a clean sheet. He will be given the task to again deliver the same performance against France. Navas is an experienced head who has already played for several top clubs in Europe. 

CB: Nacho Fernandez

Nacho is facing a similar situation to Navas. With Le Normand suspended for this tie, Nacho will be given the nod to lead his nation in an important clash. Spain can reap the rewards as he will provide a much-needed experience at the back after guiding Real Madrid in similar situations over the years. Nacho has already performed on the big stage after limiting Croatia in the opening match. 

CB: Aymeric Laporte

Aymeric Laporte has performed consistently for Spain in the tournament. After initially starting the tournament from the bench, Laporte has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He put on an excellent shift against Germany in the quarter-final clash to help them secure the win. Laporte has also brought discipline into his game after playing the tournament without collecting a single yellow card. 

LB: Marc Cucurella

What a turnaround it has been for Marc Cucurella. After initially struggling to establish his place in the Chelsea team to was one of the consistent performers at the end of the season. His performance earned him a call-up to the national team where he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Cucurella has been a rock from the left-back after making 17 recoveries, winning 8 tackles and 6 interceptions. 

CM: Fabian Ruiz

Fabian Ruiz oozes class in the middle of the park after putting on several impressive performances. Ruiz has demonstrated his attacking prowess after netting two goals and two assists to become a key player in the team. He has excellent technique to play under pressure highlighted by his dribble against Germany where his one slick play took three German players out of the position. Ruiz is already one of the contenders for the goal of the tournament.

CM: Rodri

Arguably one of the best central midfielders in the world, Rodri has played the anchor role effectively for La Roja. His ability to keep things simple and tidy in the middle of the park makes him a key player. Rodri’s ability to control the tempo of the game and also set the pace of the game makes him a perfect player for the team. Rodri also turned up to the big occasion after scoring the leveler against Georgia to bring Spain back into the contest. 

CM: Dani Olmo

Probably the most informed player for Spain in the knockout games. Dani Olmo played a crucial role against the German to book La Roja’s place in the semi-final. Dani Olmo scored the opener in the last match after putting a fine strike from the edge of the box to leave Neuer with no chance to save it. He again stepped up in the final minutes of the extra time by delivering a pinpoint cross for Mikel Merino to net the winner. 

RW: Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal has been a sensation for Spain after delivering back-to-back impressive performances for the team. He has looked unplayable in the tournament with defenders finding him a nightmare to defend. His importance to the team is unmatched after playing all the matches. It was his wonderful pass that set up the opening goal for Dani Olmo. He created havoc in the German half with his dribbling and pace not allowing their defenders to settle in the game. 

ST: Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata has led the line impressively for La Roja. He has netted one goal in the tournament and has brought much more to the side than just scoring. His importance to the team is undeniable after putting in some incredible shifts. Despite being a striker, he was all over the place against Germany making sure Spain didn’t concede a goal. Morata’s clever movements have been a delight to watch. 

LW: Nico Williams

Another youngster who has taken the tournament by storm. Nico Williams has created havoc so far and is a menace for the opposition’s defenders due to his rapid pace and trickery. Williams possesses a frightening pace which helps him beat defenders with ease. He was close to netting the winner in the last match, however, a last-ditch tackle saved the day for the Germans. Even the ever-reliable Kimmich had a torrid time against him.
