La Roja have won the World Cup only once.

Manager Luis de la Fuente has announced the final Spain squad that will be ready to compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026, and are hoping to add a second trophy to their cabinet.

Spain’s historic 2010 victory in South Africa is still recognised as one of the best international football teams in history, and they are still the only national team in the modern era to win both a World Cup and a European Championship in consecutive years.

Following their recent success under coach Luis de la Fuente, Spain’s national football team is once again among the favourites going into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

They are stacked with plenty of quality stars, who led the national team to Euro 2024 success and will be once again determined to guide La Roja to a second World Cup trophy.

One of the eye-catching names in the squad has been Lamine Yamal. Despite the player sustaining an injury, Spain will hope that Yamal recover on time for the World Cup, as they will undoubtedly depend on their star player to spearhead the team.

They will be looking to banish the ghosts of the last three World Cups after sustaining a poor run in all three competitions, which resulted in their early departure from the tournament.

Along with the national football teams of Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde, Spain has been placed in Group H. On June 15 in Atlanta, they will play their first game of the competition against Cape Verde.
