The Norwegian signed a record-breaking deal with City recently.
When Erling Haaland will surpass Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal total has been determined by a supercomputer. The Norwegian striker signed nearly a ten-year, mega-money contract with Manchester City, committing most of his career to the team recently.
The 24-year-old Haaland will make an incredible £260 million throughout the contract. His weekly salary has increased from £375,000 to £500,000, making him the seventh highest-paid player globally.
Since joining the Premier League in 2022, the former goalscorer for Borussia Dortmund has produced a lot of goals. In just 87 games, he has already scored 79 goals in the competition.
With a goal-per-game ratio of 0.9, Haaland is on track to surpass Shearer’s record, according to a supercomputer prediction if he fulfils his contract at the club until 2034.
It won’t be long before Haaland surpasses the Newcastle legend’s 260 Premier League goals during his career. He will catch Shearer in his 287th game if he maintains his current scoring pace as per the computer.
It won’t be surprising if he does, given the speed with which he has been scoring goals for City. In the last two seasons, he has stunned everyone with the number of goals he produced.
If found convicted of the present lingering allegations Man City would also have to avoid relegation as part of the prediction. Haaland may even get far ahead of the record by 2034, as his contract isn’t scheduled to expire until then. Shearer scored 260 goals in the Premier League in 441 games.
This implies that the Norwegian star might accomplish the same record with 154 fewer games. Haaland now is the second-top scorer in the Premier League this season, only two goals behind Mohamed Salah at the time of writing.
Haaland has exceeded teammate Kevin De Bruyne’s £400,000-per-week contract. Additionally, he receives a higher salary than players like Casemiro and Mohamed Salah, who both make £350,000 a week. He will make an incredible £71k per day and about £3k per hour under his new contract.
