Nati will look to win their second group stage match.

Switzerland will be aiming to secure their first win of the FIFA World Cup 2026 when they take on Bosnia and Herzegovina. This crucial Group B fixture will take place at Los Angeles Stadium.

Murat Yakin’s side opened their WC campaign with a 1-1 draw against Qatar despite controlling large phases of the game. It leaves them with work to do in the race for a place in the knockout rounds.

The Swiss have relied on a blend of experience and defensive stability throughout recent tournaments. Veterans such as Granit Xhaka and Ricardo Rodriguez continue to form the backbone of the squad. At the same time, players like Manuel Akanji, Gregor Kobel and Denis Zakaria provide additional quality and leadership across the pitch.

With Bosnia also entering the match after drawing their opening group fixture, Switzerland are expected to field a strong lineup featuring several of their most experienced internationals. The result could prove decisive in determining which side gains the upper hand in Group B heading into the final round of matches.

Yakin is unlikely to make major alterations to the core of his team. Switzerland are expected to retain their preferred 4-3-3 system. It offers a balance between defensive solidity and attacking width.

Gregor Kobel is expected to continue between the posts. The goalkeeper has established himself as Switzerland’s first-choice option and brings reliability to the backline.

In defence, Denis Zakaria could operate at right-back alongside centre-backs Nico Elvedi and Manuel Akanji. Ricardo Rodriguez is expected to start on the left side of the defence, adding experience and composure in possession.

The midfield trio is likely to feature Remo Freuler, Granit Xhaka and Michael Aebishcher. Freuler’s work rate and positional discipline complement Zhaka’s passing range and leadership. Meanwhile, Aebischer offers energy and support in both attacking and defensive phases.

Up front, Dan Ndoye is expected to occupy the right-wing role, with Ruben Vargas operating from the left. Breel Embolo is likely to lead the line as Switzerland’s central striker, bringing a physical presence and an attacking threat in the penalty area.
