Switzerland have confirmed their World Cup squad.

Switzerland have revealed their final 26-man roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The nation has qualified for the FIFA World Cup thirteen times. Their three World Cup quarterfinal appearances (1934, 1938, and 1954) were their finest results.

Yakin has added younger players to the team while still depending on a group of seasoned veterans.

Zeki Amdouni, a forward for Switzerland who has barely played this season due to a severe knee injury, was selected for the World Cup roster on Tuesday.

Granit Xhaka, a 33-year-old former midfielder for Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen, will captain the team for the fourth consecutive World Cup, extending his national record of 144 caps.

Christian Fassnacht and Cedric Itten, two attacking possibilities who have only played a few minutes for Switzerland since 2023, were unexpected choices picked by Yakin.

The only players chosen from Swiss clubs are Fassnacht, the top scorer in the national league with 18 goals this season, and Young Boys goalkeeper Marvin Keller.

Switzerland are among the underdogs who have exceeded expectations in major tournaments. They have beaten some heavyweights and will be eager to demonstrate their quality in the competition, and will once again look to make a mark next month.
