Top eight football teams to remain undefeated for entire season
These teams defied all odds and scripted sensational stories.
Football is a game of two tales, wins and losses are a part of the game, and both are equally likely to take place. Despite their best efforts, teams can lose games, and sometimes the footballing gods can shower upon their blessings even on some of the worst days.
Due to the stiff competition in the world of football, and the high unpredictability of the game, it becomes impossible for any team, no matter how good they are, to continue going undefeated for very long, such is the cruelty of football.
But despite all these challenges that stop a team from continuing an everlasting winning streak, some teams have defied all odds, and have completed entire league seasons without registering a single loss.
Today, we take a look at the top 10 teams, who have achieved the marvellous and unprecedented feat of going through an entire season, without a single defeat.
8. Arsenal (2003-04)
The Premier League or the English First Division has forever been a highly competitive and illustrious league. Winning it is by far one of the biggest achievements one can attain as a footballer, let alone winning it undefeated.
That is exactly what Arsenal did – Winning the toughest league, without losing a single game, breaking a record that dated back to more than a century, and becoming proud recipients of the title ‘The Invincibles’.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, deserves a lot of plaudits for this. With stars like Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Patrick Viera at the club, an invincible season is a true reflection of their quality. Arsenal won the league with 90 points. A points total that several teams have surpassed despite not being “Invincible”.
